Additive Manufacturing (AM) has enabled the fabrication of complex three-dimensional structures that are difficult or impossible to produce using conventional methods. This study aims to develop a design protocol for mechanically evaluating components—such as heat exchangers with intricate internal geometries—produced by AM without relying on post-process treatments like machining or heat treatment. Test specimens made of PLA were fabricated using Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), with variations in build orientation (0° and 90°) and subjected to tensile testing both with and without heat treatment.
