We consider a determination of cracks in a two-dimensional finite domain using LASSO. Hattori and Yoshikawa find the candidate cracks using the distribution of topological derivatives associated with crack formation and calculate the objective function for each candidate crack arrangement. Then the arrangement of candidate cracks that minimizes the objective function is determined as the correct crack arrangement.Yoshioka and Yoshikawa use LASSO to determine the correct crack arrangement from the candidate cracks in Laplace problems. Sumioka and Yoshikawa extend the method of Yoshioka to time domain problems and determine the correct crack arrangement from the candidate cracks in a two-dimensional infinite domain governed by the wave equation using LASSO.In this study,we carry out the determination of cracks in a two-dimensional finite domain governed by the wave equation using LASSO.The correct cracks are able to be accurately determined from the candidate cracks.
