This study proposes a novel shape generation system that utilizes a large language model (LLM) as an interface. Based on user queries, the LLM generates input data, which is then passed to an external shape generation system to produce the desired geometry. Furthermore, the LLM analyzes the resulting shape and its evaluation to provide design insights. This approach allows designers to perform advanced design tasks without needing to understand the complex mathematical models or usage of the external shape generation systems. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed method, we conduct experiments using two external shape generation systems: one based on topology optimization and the other based on generative AI for ship hull design.
