Enterprise modelling enables a comprehensive representation of business activities. It has been extended to include decision processes, thus integrating traditional information systems and systems that support manager decisions. This integration ignores the stand-alone nature of Decision Support Systems, DSS, data warehouse and Business Intelligence, BI, as well as of data lakes and analytical applications. We propose that Decision Enterprise Modelling, DEM and traditional enterprise modelling are two peer-to-peer, cooperating perspectives of an organization. We justify this view by showing that DEM is in accordance with frameworks for enterprise modelling and information systems respectively even as it has its own, specific concepts and models.
