Ensuring that designs are free of defects is important for reliability and safety. Since large language models (LLMs) are databases of information and knowledge from various fields, LLMs should enable design verification from various perspectives at each stage of the design process. In upstream design stages, such as planning and conceptual design, design information is expressed in text, such as statements and tables, and schematic diagrams. As design progresses downstream, the design information transitions to 2D or 3D CAD models that represent the target shape and structure. This paper examines the feasibility of using LLMs to verify design information at each stage of the design process, dividing the scope into three areas: design verification of textual design information, design verification of textual pseudo-design information of shape and structure, and design verification of actual design information of shape and structure.
