The emergence of highly capable generative AI has inadvertently run the most clarifying controlled experiment in the history of intelligence research. The result: virtually every feat historically attributed to human genius — rapid mental calculation, encyclopedic memory, fluent multilingual translation, complex logical derivation, game-theoretic optimization, speed-reading and instant recall of entire texts — has been replicated with relative ease by systems built on mathematically simple (if computationally scaled) architectures. This is not a triumph for those celebrated for such feats. It is a revelation about what those feats actually were: sophisticated algorithmic execution within established frameworks, impressive in biological hardware but not categorically different from what a large matrix multiplication can now achieve. What AI has simultaneously revealed is the contour of what it cannot replicate: genuine framework creation, i-channel insight, moral creativity, and the civilizational imagination that transforms not just ideas but the structure of human existence. The people most celebrated as "intelligent" by popular culture — Von Neumann, Ken Jennings, Kim Peek — belong largely to the algorithmic tier. The people whose contributions actually reshaped humanity's conceptual and moral universe — Newton, Tesla, Jesus, the Buddha — belong to a categorically higher tier that AI has so far not touched. This paper formalizes this distinction as a five-level Intelligence Hierarchy, maps historical figures onto it, identifies the AI replication boundary, and argues that GILE integration — not processing speed — is the distinguishing feature of the highest tier.
