According to the patient safety literature, missed nursing care is considered an error of omission. It is defined as any aspect of required patient care that is omitted—either partially or entirely—or delayed (Kalisch et al. 2009). The MISSCARE Survey is an instrument developed to measure missed nursing care and to analyze its underlying causes. This instrument was translated and validated in a Brazilian Portuguese version in 2017 and, more recently - 2024, was validated for use in the Chilean context in Spanish.
