The purpose of this study was kinematic analysis in the bone relative coordinate system after total knee arthroplasty. Anterior and lateral X-ray images were used to estimate the location of the artificial knee joint replacement. The position and orientation of the implant were analyzed using image matching technique with implant shape, while the natural joint was analyzed using image matching technique with bone density information. The replacement position of artificial knee joints was estimated by calculating the relative of the femoral component to the femur and the tibial component to the tibia. In this study, knee flexion activity was analyzed in 9 patients who had undergone BCS type knee arthroplasty and 11 patients who had undergone CR type. In the result of the adduction/abduction rotational in implant relative coordinate showed 0 degrees for BCS and CR type. BCS and CR type in bone relative coordinate showed adduction position in initial position. In the result of the anterior/posterior translation, BCS and CR type in implant and bone relative coordinate showed posterior with knee flection. The BCS type was located more posterior to the CR type in flexion position.
