Pathologies of the Head and Neck are best managed by ENT/Otorhinolaryngologists; the reason is simple: our fraternity focuses on restoration of function along with anatomic restoration. From the days of our residency training, we are taught and accordingly tune ourselves to evaluate function of the upper aerodigestive tract; hence in succession when we start performing surgeries of the Head and Neck, the focus on functionality of the organ is always at the back of our mind.Hence, it is usually ONLY in periodicals pertaining to Otorhinolaryngologists that one may find articles pertaining to speech and swallowing rehabilitation along with those pertaining to surgical techniques/ protocols. This is a periodical from ENTs and for ENTs and shall always stay that way.
