This study highlights the synthesis and characterization of a tetradentate ONNO Schiff base ligand named (Bis3-methoxysalicylydene-4-chloro-1,2-diimino-phenylenediamine), and thereafter complexing with Ru(III). The Schiff base ligand was synthesized from o-Vanillin and 4-Chloro-o-phenylenediamine in a 2:1 molar ratio. The ligand and the complex were characterized by elemental analysis, FTIR, UV, ¹H NMR, and ¹³C NMR spectroscopy. The Schiff base ligand and complexes have been screened for antimicrobial property against CPE (Clostridium perfringens enterotoxin) (PDB ID:2XH6) by molecular docking. It has been observed that the affinity of the complex is greater than the ligand.
