The study evaluated the effects of long-term storage (nine years) and packaging type on the quality of beetroot seeds. Seeds stored in retail packaging showed a significant decline in germination and germination energy, along with increased moisture content, compared to seeds stored in bulk, which retained higher viability. Seed weight remained relatively stable regardless of storage conditions. The results indicate that bulk storage under controlled conditions is more effective for maintaining seed quality over long periods, while paper retail packaging accelerates deterioration.
