ABSTRACT Tourism is a consumption activity centered on emotional experience, crucial to industry development. While tourists' mood has gained academic attention, most studies emphasize external stimuli, with limited focus on psychological traits. Temporal orientation, as a core personality component, may significantly shape tourists' emotional experiences. This study adopts a mixed‐methods approach to examine the impact of temporal orientation on mood state and the mediating role of hedonic intention. Findings offer practical implications for tourism practitioners in enhancing emotional experiences and deepen the theoretical understanding of how individual traits influence tourist emotions.
