Abstract The current study aimed to reveal the variation in levels of neurotic perfectionism among university students according to their gender and academic specialization variables. The study relied on the descriptive analytical approach, as it is one of the most appropriate approaches to achieve its objectives. The study sample consisted of (295) male and female students from the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences, including (160) males (54.2%), and (135) females (45.8%) with an average age of 22.54 and a standard deviation of 1.36. The neurotic perfectionism scale prepared by Yamani (2018) was applied to them. The results showed that the level of neurotic perfectionism among university students was generally low, and the results also showed no statistically significant differences in the level of neurotic perfectionism due to the gender variable or the specialization variable. The study also reached many recommendations, including: expanding counseling services in universities to diagnose the cases of students with neurotic perfectionism and work to find appropriate solutions for them, as well as applying tests and scales that target the neurotic perfectionism variable periodically to know the level of neurotic perfectionism among university students and provide the best ways to reduce its negative harm.
