ZnIn 2 S 4 /PW 12 M (M = NH 4 , K) photocatalytic materials were constructed by encapsulating ZnIn 2 S 4 nanosheets onto the surface of phosphotungstate for the removal of oxytetracycline hydrochloride (OTCH). Under visible light irradiation, ZK50 achieved degradation rates of 86.2% for OTCH within 30 minutes. A thorough examination of the photocatalytic mechanism has revealed that superoxide radicals (·O 2 - ) and holes (h VB + ) function as the primary active species in the photocatalytic degradation of OTCH. The formation of a Z-type heterojunction between ZnIn 2 S 4 and PW 12 K has been demonstrated to promote efficient charge-hole separation, thereby enhancing the photocatalytic performance of the system. This work presents a novel approach for developing photocatalytic technologies to remove environmental liquid-phase pollutants.
