This article provides a summary of the topics covered and the Special Issue's general themes. Furthermore, we provide highlights from each contribution. The Special Issue contains eleven manuscripts, including nine Original Research articles, one Review, and one Expert Opinion article. A wide range of topics has been discussed, including in vivo vs. ex vivo studies, experimental vs. simulation-based investigations, and theoretical vs. practical considerations. Notably, studies from various tissue systems have been included, while we emphasized connecting the knowledge and experience gained across them, which can be useful for tissue biomechanics in general.
