Abstract

The maerid amphipod Elasmopus nkjaf Nakamura, Nakano, Ota & Tomikawa, 2019 was collected from Ishigaki Island, Ryukyu Archipelago, Japan. This species was originally described from Miyako Island and has not been documented since its original description. The specimens from Ishigaki Island represent the second specimen-based record of the species as well as the first record of the species from a location other than the type locality.
