A previously reported microtubule-associated protein tau (MAPT) mutation, p. K298H299insQ, involving a glutamine insertion between lysine 298 and histidine 299, was identified in patients with frontotemporal dementia. We established induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) lines from a patient carrying this mutation. Generated iPSCs displayed typical pluripotency characteristics, differentiation potential into three germ layers, and stable karyotypes
Hirose et al. (Wed,) studied this question.
