The Upano Valley of Amazonian Ecuador contains the oldest and largest known pre-Hispanic urban network in Amazonia, comprising over 6,000 earthen platforms documented by Rostain et al. (2024) in Science. The standard platform dimensions — 20 meters in length and 10 meters in width — encode Helmholtz resonant frequencies of 8.57 Hz and 17.15 Hz respectively, both falling within the published infrasound output range of the adjacent Sangay volcano (0.5–20 Hz). The frequency ratio between these two dimensions is exactly 2.0000, constituting a perfect acoustic octave. Both frequencies represent integer harmonics of the base carrier frequency F#6 (1,479.97 Hz) validated across fourteen ancient civilizations, with errors of 0.24% and 0.34% — well within the 0.5% threshold for strong harmonic alignment. This paper presents the first application of acoustic analysis to the Upano Valley platforms and identifies a cross-civilizational pattern of volcanic infrasound coupling. The findings suggest these platforms may represent the largest engineered acoustic instrument yet identified.
