The effect of weak combined magnetic fields, a static magnetic field (60 µT) and a collinear alternating magnetic field at a frequency of 12.6 Hz with amplitudes in the range of 10–2500 nT, on the intensity of a respiratory burst recorded by luminol-dependent chemiluminescence in a mouse neutrophil suspension in response to the activator peptide N-formyl–Met–Leu–Phe was studied. It has been shown that a 40 min exposure to combined magnetic fields preceding the introduction of the activator enhances the respiratory burst in the range of alternating field amplitudes of 40–265 nT.
