Software for a distributed clinostat system that can be used for cultivating plants under simulated microgravity conditions, which provides full control over all essential cultivation parameters and automates the process, is presented. The system has been field-tested through multiple cultivation experiments. It is a fully open-source solution that can facilitate research on the effects of microgravity without the high costs associated with space flights.
