"Sanzizijing" ("Canon of Three Characters") is a classic didactic textbook for elementary education that has gained wide popularity in China and around the world. Due to its encyclopedic coverage of material, accessible text structure, and rich content of traditional Chinese culture, this treatise serves as an important educational resource for studying the Chinese language as well as understanding traditional literature, history, philosophy, astronomy, geography, moral and ethical principles, and Confucian virtues. Since the 16th century, this work has been translated into numerous languages and has become widespread in Western countries. Russian sinologists have been researching, translating, and interpreting it since the 18th century. The presented article traces the history of its reception in Russia through a comparative analysis of six Russian translations of the monument. Combining linguistic-didactic analysis with teaching methodology, the author explores the educational potential of "Sanzizijing" in the practice of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, as well as its unique role in intercultural communication, which contributes to the development of new approaches in overseas sinology education and strengthens cultural dialogue. The author employs textual analysis as a method. The semantics and pragmatics of the Chinese original are compared with its reflection in the Russian translation. This article proposes an innovative methodology for integrating the classical Chinese treatise "Sanzizijing" into the process of teaching the Chinese language. Based on an analysis of the historical experience of using this text in Russian educational practice, a comprehensive study of its applicability in the modern educational system is conducted. Utilizing "Sanzizijing" as teaching material can not only enrich the content of lessons but also offer new methodological approaches to teaching the Chinese language. This creates unique opportunities for popularizing traditional Chinese culture and forming an objective image of China. The prospects for further use of "Sanzizijing" are related to the development of adapted teaching materials that consider the perceptions of foreign students, the active involvement of educators, and systematic support at the government level. The realization of this potential will contribute to more effective representation of Chinese culture on the international stage.
