An improved magnetostriction model of magnetic field influence on the diffusion of an impurity in a ferromagnetic solvent has been proposed. Relations for calculating the value of additional quasi-elastic force acting on a diffusing atom in a ferromagnetic solvent with a bcc lattice under the impact of a magnetic field have been obtained. The calculation of the additional quasi-elastic force for the case of magnetostriction effect in directions 100, 110, and 111 of single-crystal α-Fe and for the case of volume magnetostriction has been performed. The result of the additional quasi-elastic force calculation demonstrates that the contribution of volume magnetostriction to the additional mass transfer is more significant compared to the contribution of linear magnetostriction for base bcc directions 100, 110, and 111. The applicability of the improved magnetostriction model to the vacancy diffusion mechanism in a ferromagnetic bcc lattice is discussed.
