Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of Ormeloxifene in patients with benign breast diseases aged 18-50 years. Methods: 100 patients having benign breast disorders in the age group of 18 to 50 years were studied in a tertiary care hospital of Ahmedabad. Tablet Ormeloxifene (30 mg twice a week) was started for 1 month. Visual analogue scale was used for pain assessment and Lucknow Cardiff Scale was used for assessment of nodularity. Results: Out of 100 patients, Symptoms were relieved in 67 patients by tablet Ormeloxifene given twice a week. Out of 67 patients, 50 patients were relieved by tablet Ormeloxifene 30mg given twice a week at the end of 1 month. Symptoms were relieved in remaining 10 and 7 patients after 3 months and 6 months respectively with tablet Ormeloxifene 60 mg given twice a week. Symptoms were not relieved in 33 patients even with an increased dose at the end of 6 months. Conclusion: Benign breast diseases respond well to Ormeloxifene. Ormeloxifene is an effective drug for treatment of breast pain and nodularity. It showed significant efficacy for the treatment of benign breast diseases. Ormeloxifene can be used as first line of treatment in patients with benign breast diseases.
