Sulfinamidines are sulfur(IV) functional groups with significant medicinal potential and serve as versatile intermediates toward sulfur(VI) motifs, which are also of heightened pharmaceutical interest. However, their enantioselective synthesis has remained challenging, and catalytic asymmetric methods were absent. In late 2025, four independent studies reported the first catalytic enantioselective protocols. These advances boost the exploration of sulfinamidines for a variety of applications and establish a foundation for streamlined access to chiral sulfur(VI) species, including sulfondiimidamides and related motifs.
