Rural markets have become a vital growth engine for the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, particularly in developing economies, due to rising incomes, improved connectivity, and increasing consumer awareness. This study examines rural marketing practices and their influence on customer satisfaction within the FMCG sector by focusing on key elements such as distribution efficiency, pricing strategies, promotional activities, and product availability. An empirical research design was adopted, utilizing primary data collected through structured questionnaires administered to rural consumers across selected regions, along with secondary data from industry reports and academic sources. Statistical tools, including regression analysis, were applied to evaluate the relationship between marketing practices and customer satisfaction. The findings indicate that efficient distribution systems, affordable and value-based pricing, localized and culturally relevant promotional strategies, and consistent product availability significantly contribute to higher levels of customer satisfaction in rural markets. Moreover, factors such as product quality, brand trust, and strong relationships with local retailers further influence consumer preferences and loyalty. Despite these positive drivers, challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, limited market awareness, seasonal demand fluctuations, and supply chain inefficiencies continue to restrict the full potential of rural market penetration. The study concludes that FMCG companies need to design and implement customized marketing strategies tailored to the specific needs and purchasing behavior of rural consumers. Emphasis on strengthening last-mile delivery, enhancing communication through local channels, and ensuring affordability and accessibility can significantly improve customer satisfaction and foster long-term brand loyalty. This research offers valuable insights for marketers, policymakers, and business practitioners aiming to expand and sustain their presence in rural markets. Hence, the present study made an attempt to study the rural marketing Practices and Customer Satisfaction in the FMCG sector in Theni district.
