This study emphasizes the importance of investigating the influence of fillers incorporated into self-lubricating polymers – a special class of antifriction materials widely applied in various fields of modern engineering – on their mechanical, structural, thermal, tribotechnical, and other distinctive properties. It has been established that replacing conventional metal bearings requiring lubrication with self-lubricating materials simplifies bearing assembly design, reduces overall dimensions and weight, and facilitates both manufacturing and operation. Incorporating fillers such as graphite, MoS2, coke, copper-plated graphite, and particularly graphene nanoparticles into a fluoroplastic matrix enables achieving significantly improved performance.
