This article is devoted to the development of a simulation model for waste transportation aimed at improving the efficiency and environmental sustainability of the waste management system. The work presents an analysis of modern approaches to organizing logistics operations, including the application of intelligent technologies, reverse logistics, and circular economy principles. A modular simulation model, developed using the AnyLogic software environment, accounts for the heterogeneity of transport flows, various waste categories, and management strategies. An optimization experiment was conducted, which allowed for determining the optimal number of specialized vehicles and reducing transportation costs by 40.64%. The results of the study demonstrate the potential of simulation modeling as a decision-support tool for enhancing the sustainability and economic efficiency of waste management systems.
