Abstract Shwasa Roga, specifically Tamaka Shwasa, is a formidable Pranavaha Srotovikara characterized by the Vimargagamana and Pratiloma Gati of Prana Vayu due to profound Margavarodha by vitiated Sama Kapha. Originating as a Pittasthana Samudbhava Vyadhi from the Amashaya, its progressive Samprapti can be intricately analyzed through the Shad Kriyakala-from the initial Sanchaya and Prakopa of Kapha- Vata Doshas, to their Sthanasamshraya inducing intense Srotovaigunya within the Uras. This paper evaluates the systemic evolution of Shwasa Roga and establishes the supreme clinical necessity of Vamana Karma (Urdhwabhaga Shodhana) for executing complete Samprapti Vighatana. Utilizing the Ushna, Tikshna, and Vyavayi Gunas of Vamaka Dravyas, the therapy successfully induces Vishyandana (liquefaction) and Chedana (detachment) of deeply lodged, Grathita Kapha. Guided by Anupravanabhava and stimulated by Udana Vayu, the Utklishta Doshas are forcibly expelled from the Koshtha. This critical analysis concludes that Vamana Karma transcends mere Lakshanika Upashaya (symptomatic relief); it dismantles the Avarana over the channels, eradicates the Moola Karana of the Vyadhi, and provides immediate Srotoshuddhi, thereby empowering Prana Vayu to naturally restore its Anuloma Gati.
