Abstract Syphilis is resurging among reproductive-age women in the US. Among 773 women living with and without HIV enrolled in Study of Treatment and Reproductive Outcomes (STAR), 2.9% had prior/current syphilis, including one pregnant participant. Factors associated with prior/current syphilis included lower education, unemployment, incarceration history, and history of transactional sex.
Meyer et al. (Sat,) studied this question.
