In this paper, the probability of the existence of a brown dwarf in the nearest solar neighborhood is estimated. To do this, the mutual distances between objects in the catalog of close (up to 20 pcs) objects are analyzed, taking into account the incompleteness of the data. Our estimates show that the probability of the existence of a brown dwarf located closer to the Sun of the Cen system is about 50 \%.
