ABSTRACT Intraluminal foreign bodies, including hair, have been described in association with appendicitis, sometimes in complicated forms with perforation. It has been suggested that they may contribute to the inflammatory process through luminal obstruction and subsequent progression of inflammation. We present the case of a pediatric patient with intraluminal hair identified in the setting of perforated appendicitis.
