Abstract: Janet Anthony, a professor of cello at Lawrence University and the founding member of the nonprofit BLUME (Building Leaders Using Music Education) Haiti, has dedicated her work to forging a bond between Haitian and US students studying music. Since 2010, BLUME Haiti has created opportunities for young Haitians who aspire to become professional musicians to learn how to read and play music. During Janet's va-et-vient between Haiti and the United States for the past fifteen years, she has paved the way for talented young Haitian musicians to come to Lawrence University, located in Appleton, Wisconsin, to pursue their studies. As a result, many of them have become professional musicians and are now blossoming all over the world. This interview was completed within a three-week period in the month of March 2025 via email, and its purpose was to acknowledge fifteen years of grounded partnership between BLUME Haiti and Cercle des Musiciens Chrétiens du Cap-Haïtien (CEMUCHCA).
