To evaluate the success of fully parenteral antiretroviral therapy in a patient with HIV-1 and intestinal failure.
Administered fully parenteral antiretroviral therapy including CAB/RPV LA.
Monitored patient's response to therapy and viral load.
Assessed safety and feasibility of the treatment approach.
Achieved durable viral suppression in the patient.
Demonstrated the safety of parenteral therapy.
Indicated potential for parenteral therapy as a bridge where oral therapy is not feasible.
Abstract
Fully parenteral ARV, including CAB/RPV LA, may provide a safe and effective bridge to durable viral suppression in patients with absolute contraindications to oral therapy, warranting further evaluation.
