However, the success of GST depends largely on public awareness and understanding of its rules and procedures. In a multilingual country like India, regional language communication plays a crucial role in spreading GST awareness among citizens, especially small traders, rural populations, and local business communities. Communication through regional languages helps people understand GST registration, tax filing, and compliance processes more easily. Media platforms, government campaigns, workshops, and digital resources in regional languages contribute significantly to improving tax literacy. This article examines the importance of regional language communication in promoting GST awareness, its benefits for taxpayers, the role of media and government initiatives, and the challenges involved. The study concludes that effective communication in regional languages is essential for strengthening GST compliance and ensuring inclusive participation in the taxation system. The primary objective of GST is to simplify the taxation system, reduce tax evasion, and improve transparency in business transactions. However, implementing such a large-scale reform requires effective communication between the government and citizens. People must understand the procedures related to GST registration, tax payment, invoice generation, and return filing. Without proper awareness, taxpayers may find it difficult to comply with GST regulations. India is a linguistically diverse country where people speak hundreds of languages. Many small traders, farmers, and local business owners are more comfortable communicating in regional languages than in English or Hindi. Therefore, regional language communication becomes a vital tool in promoting GST awareness and encouraging compliance. 2.Understanding GST and Its Importance GST is a comprehensive indirect tax applied to the supply of goods and services throughout the country. It aims to create a “One Nation, One Tax” system, eliminating the complexities of multiple taxes.
