The philosophical foundations and mandates of theoretical physics and natural science have encountered significant challenges, as highlighted by Yang et al. (2026) in The Philosophy Crisis of Theoretical Physics. In response, this paper examines the limitations of extant philosophical frameworks and proposes a post-Kierkegaardian paradigm. By synthesizing Max Weber’s theory of disenchantment with our own reflections, we explore the existential condition of the scientific practitioner. Our work offers a novel perspective on the vocational meaning of scientific inquiry and the evolving landscape of post-Kierkegaardian thought.
