Current NHS dermatology quality assessment is dominated by operational key performance indicators, which inadequately capture patient experience and the true burden of skin disease. This paper argues for a broader, patient-centred framework aligned with the NHS 10-Year Health Plan, incorporating qualitative measures, strengthened community care, prevention and responsible digital innovation. Dermatology is positioned as well placed to lead this shift and act as a model for wider system reform.
