This study describes the difference in the articulatory behavior between /agV/ and /akV/ sequences based on inverse estimation. Pharyngeal cavity volumes immediately before and after consonant closure were estimated for four adult male speakers, and radar charts were used to quantitatively evaluate the difference in volume between voiced and voiceless consonants. These results suggest that /g/ has a larger volume value than /k/. The difference in volume was greatest for the vowel /a/, and although the values decreased for the following vowels, the voiced consonant /g/ consistently showed a larger volume.
