The article analyzes the life path, scientific-pedagogical activities, and the pivotal role of Khalil Ismayil oglu Ismayilov - Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor - in the development of library science in Azerbaijan. Prepared on the occasion of his 80th anniversary (July 1, 2025) and the 51st year of his professional career, this study pays special attention to the scholar’s contributions to library education in Azerbaijan, library management, and the implementation of information technologies in library administration. Particular emphasis is placed on the analysis of four major scientific publications by the scholar that have played a significant role in the formation of highly qualified and experienced professionals. In addition to highlighting Professor Ismayilov’s scientific legacy, the article underscores his humanistic approach to his profession, work, and colleagues, his sincere attitude, and his profound dedication to the library community.
