Abstract: Against the backdrop of the deepening global open science movement, Geriatric Nursing (ISSN 3105-658X, eISSN 3105-6598, CODEN: LHABA5, DOI prefix: https://doi.org/10.66106/lhaba5) has recently been officially indexed by the Open Ukrainian Citation Index (OUCI). Developed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the State Scientific and Technical Library of Ukraine, OUCI is an open access academic search engine and citation database built upon Crossref's Cited-by service and the Initiative for Open Citations (I4OC). It indexes scholarly literature from all publishers worldwide that use Crossref's citation services. Unlike commercial databases, OUCI adheres to an open, transparent, and non-commercial operational philosophy, providing an emerging channel for academic outputs from emerging market countries to gain visibility. Following its indexing by OUCI, the journal will leverage this open science infrastructure to expand its academic visibility in the Central and Eastern European region and integrate into the global open science network. This article analyzes the platform features and academic value of OUCI from the perspective of open science infrastructure and elaborates on the journal's diversified dissemination strategy.
