Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of applying nurse-patient communication combined with psychological nursing in elderly patients with osteoporotic fractures, focusing on analyzing its impact on patients' psychological status, pain management, self-efficacy, and complications. Methods A total of 88 elderly patients with osteoporotic fractures were selected from Changzhou Wujin People's Hospital (January 2024 to January 2025). They were randomly divided into two groups using a computer-generated random sequence method. The control group (n=44) received a conventional orthopaedic care plan, while the observation group (n=44) received nurse-patient communication combined with psychological nursing. The effectiveness of the nursing approaches was evaluated based on the following dimensions: negative emotional status, pain level, self-efficacy, and complication incidence rate. Results After the nursing intervention, the observation group showed significantly lower SAS, SDS, and VAS scores, and a higher OSES score compared to the control group. The incidence of complications in the observation group was also lower than that in the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion The integrated model of nurse-patient communication and psychological nursing can significantly improve the psychological status, pain perception, and self-management ability of elderly patients with osteoporotic fractures, while also reducing the risk of complications. It holds high clinical promotion value.
