Northwestern College in Iowa experienced a 45% increase in athletics giving under the leadership of Tony Hoops, M. Ed. , Vice President for Athletics, a role he's held since 2023. In his first year there, the school became the national runner‐up in football and volleyball and finished in the top 20 in the Learfield standings for the first time since 2017. Additionally, while serving in his previous role at Bethel College in Kansas, teams won conference championships, competed at the national level, and earned their highest GPA in 10 years. Also under his leadership at Bethel, Hoops increased private fundraising of departmental gifts by 650%, helped raise more than 6 million for facility updates, generated more than 400, 000 annually for the athletics department, and grew booster club membership by 500%.
