Through the lens of assessment as a form of service-learning, this case example provides insight into the initiation and implementation of data-oriented skills and career competencies through an interdisciplinary Honors College undergraduate course. Utilizing service-learning principles as the guiding framework, key steps are outlined to highlight positive practices that informed the early and ongoing course development to emphasize the application of assessment skills in a client-focused environment. Recommendations for creating experiential learning structures to be adapted across varied institutional types are also shared.
