Limited information exists on how the use of traditional oral migraine preventive (TOMP) medications compares to the effectiveness of galcanezumab. In this study, we compared the reduction in monthly migraine days after 3 months among adult patients initiating or switching to either a TOMP medication or galcanezumab. Patients receiving galcanezumab had a greater response after 3 months than those receiving TOMP medications, suggesting better real-world effectiveness of galcanezumab.
