By linking distinct pain qualities with lesion and disconnection profiles, this study clarifies the neural mechanisms underlying post-stroke pain. Identifying these pain-quality subtypes provides insights into prognosis and supports the development of personalized rehabilitation strategies tailored to specific pain mechanisms.
