Abstract

A light-promoted asymmetric alkylation reaction of 3-hydroxyoxindoles with NHPI esters was realized using a chiral guanidine organocatalyst, without a photocatalyst, offering chiral 3,3′-bifunctional oxindoles with high efficiency.
