The development of a concept for increasing the power capacity of the existing Mutnovsky geothermal power stations will ensure reliable energy supply to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and create conditions for the development of tourism and the region’s economy. The implementation of the project will provide energy to the city using its own geothermal potential of Kamchatka krai, help preserve its unique nature without resorting to fossil fuels that have a negative impact on the environment, and create favorable conditions for further economic growth and social stability. To cover all needs, as well as the development of tourist infrastructure, it is necessary to increase the established power capacity to 300 MW. In order to achieve these values, it is first necessary to analyze the distribution of the gethermal energy of igneous intrusions, which will make it possible to assess the undiscovered potential of the Mutnovsky geothermal field.
