To address the sluggish four-electron kinetics at the anode during electrochemical water splitting and enhance the overall efficiency of hydrogen production, the development of efficient and stable catalysts for oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is crucial. Two-dimensional metal-organic framework (MOF) nanosheets, with their high aspect ratio and exposure of active sites, offer versatile applications in electrochemistry. In this study, we report a synthetic strategy for producing a series of ultrathin bimetallic Ni x Co y BDC MOF nanosheets via a microdroplet method. The resulting nanosheets exhibit a large aspect ratio and highly tunable morphology that varies with the Ni/Co ratio. otably, MF-Ni 1 Co 2 BDC displays a well-defined layered structure with a regular rectangular morphology, representing a 2D nanomaterial with an exceptionally high aspect ratio. This specific nanostructure demonstrated exceptional electrocatalytic oxygen evolution reaction (OER) activity under alkaline conditions. Furthermore, MF-Ni 1 Co 2 BDC displayed long-term durability. The microdroplet method employed in this study effectively controls the formation of 2D MOF nanosheets, presenting significant potential for the efficient and rapid production of electrochemical reaction catalysts at scale.
