ABSTRACT Zoonotic infections remain a major global health concern, particularly in developing regions where human–animal interaction is frequent. This article critically appraises a recent scientific review on Brucellosis, focusing on its epidemiology, pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment. Brucellosis is a widespread zoonotic disease transmitted primarily through livestock exposure and consumption of contaminated animal products. The reviewed literature highlights increasing global incidence, diagnostic challenges, and the need for improved public health interventions. This appraisal evaluates the strengths, limitations, and clinical relevance of the selected article while summarizing key scientific insights. INTRODUCTION Zoonotic diseases are infections transmitted between animals and humans, posing significant public health risks. Among these, Brucellosis is one of the most prevalent bacterial zoonoses worldwide. It is especially common in regions with poor food safety and veterinary control. Recent research indicates that zoonotic infections continue to rise due to increased livestock farming, urbanization, and environmental changes.
