BACKGROUND: Operating room support staff are vital for surgical efficiency and patient safety. Traditional management methods lack standardization and effective feedback. This study evaluated the impact of an information technology-based 360-degree assessment management system on service quality and satisfaction of these staff. METHODS: A comparative study was conducted from January to December 2024. Staff were divided into a control group (6 months of traditional management) and an experimental group (6 months under the 360-degree system). A total of 720 task records per group were analyzed. Primary outcomes were work quality (task application time, cleaning scores), work defect rates (hygiene, patient safety, item delivery), and satisfaction levels (patient, operating room personnel, self-satisfaction). Data were compared using independent sample t-tests and chi-square tests. RESULTS: The experimental group showed significantly shorter task application times and higher quality scores for specimen delivery and cleaning (all P < .05). Work defect rates were significantly lower in the experimental group for hygiene (0.69% vs. 2.78%), patient safety (0.14% vs. 0.97%), and item delivery (0.28% vs. 1.39%) (all P < .05). Patient satisfaction (98.47% vs. 89.44%), operating room personnel satisfaction (98.61% vs. 92.78%), and staff self-satisfaction (e.g. work efficiency: 85.56% vs. 62.50%) were all significantly higher in the experimental group (all P < .05). CONCLUSION: Implementation of an information technology-based 360-degree assessment management system significantly improved work quality, reduced defect rates, and enhanced satisfaction of operating room support staff.
