The purpose of the study is to conduct a comparative analysis of physical fitness development indicators in relation to future professional demands among first-year students at enrolled in the 36.05.01 "Veterinary Medicine" and 35.03.01 "Forestry" programmes at the Primorsky SATU. Research methods and organization. Theoretical analysis and synthesis of literary sources, surveying, testing, and statistical processing of the obtained results were applied. The study involved first-year students – future veterinarians and forestry specialists. Research results and conclusions. The results of a survey of students on the most significant physical abilities in their future professional activities determined the selection of test exercises. The results obtained during testing made it possible to identify the baseline indicators of strength and speed-strength abilities in first-year students and to draw conclusions about the means and methods for developing and improving physical abilities in practical classes.
